German grammar is very different to English grammar. For example, the verb often comes at the end of a German sentence. And German is more linguistically complex than English, having three different genders (masculine, feminine and neuter) and four different cases (nominative, accusative, dative and possessive). And of course, German uses compound nouns, which results in some words being much longer than English words. For example, a flue gas desulphurisation plant in English would be translated as a "Rauchgasentschwefelungsanlage" in German - amazing what translators learn, isn't it?
